And as chase begins my question becomes: Is Reese Summer THE one or is he really just a dirty, arrogant lie that should have stayed a one night stand?
DIRTY RICH ONE NIGHT STAND by Lisa Renee Jones is definitely not a one night stand. In this novel we are introduced to the lovely, independent Cat, a lawyer turned journalist who doesn’t stand for arrogance or ignorance. She is paired with the handsome and powerful Reese, a lawyer who never loses in court or in the bedroom. Their relationship is started in a way that begs your belief, surely our heroine isn’t going to fall for a guy with no manners and an ego the size of Manhattan. But Reese isn’t all that he seems, sure he’s arrogant and needs to learn some manners but he’s also charming, polite and falling helplessly in love with Cat.
Together they are a formidable couple, both smart, witty, stubborn and downright delicious. Sure on the surface the relationship cannot work, they’ve been thrown together during the trial of the century, with conflicts waiting for them on every turn of the page but there is something remarkable about them. Individually they’re great characters, worth investing your reading time in but together they are beautiful.
Would a relationship between them work in the real world? Maybe, maybe not but then Jones has created two characters that come alive in the novel. Characters that you invest in emotionally, a relationship you root for. I enjoyed getting to know these two characters, watching their relationship develop and the steamy, intimate scenes were even better than you would imagine. So much of the relationship between them develops between the sheets. Yet even so this isn’t a relationship based entirely on lust. Trust is earned, confidences given and love ensured.
This is one novel I could not put down and it was a great introduction into the wonderful world created by a very talented author Lisa Renee Jones. I cannot wait to read more!
