“Do you ever think that maybe that’s all people do? Fix some things and break others? And we all just live in this giant cycle where we screw things up and hurt people we love, and then we turn around and try to atone for that by fixing other things. And maybe we’re all just waiting on our turn for a broken heart and the person who will fix it.”

“In Texas, two things are cherished above all else—football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both.
Dallas Cole loathes football. That’s what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.
But life doesn’t always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball… as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.
Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It’s obliterated.
Dallas doesn’t know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn’t know that Dallas is his new coach’s daughter.
And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel.”

“This is just what it feels like to get older. It won’t be the last time you look back at your life and realize just how stupid and naive or terrible you’ve been. I’m pretty sure that’s a reoccurring thing until death do us part. The truth is… we’re all a little screwed up. The only thing we can do is to find people whose scars compliment our own.”
Dallas Cole’s life has been mostly wrapped around football. His father is a high-school-turned-university coach of the said sport and the last thing she needs is another football player that will surely break her heart.
Carson McClain aspires to be on the starting line players of football. He needs his scholarship and 100% focus on training to achieve his goal. The last thing he needs is to fall in love with his coach’s daughter.
But the instant attraction between these two is undeniable. Soon they learned each other’s secret but that didn’t stop them from following what they truly feel.
I always enjoy reading Cora Carmack’s books. They’re light, hilarious, and sexy and most of the time I devour them in one sitting. This book is no exception. I was craving for a new adult read and it was sitting there on the shelf, waiting for me to look at it and pick it up. It wasn’t really on top of my tbr pile but I’m glad I made an impulsive decision. And I can’t really say anything anymore about this book other than it’s such a delightful read and I urge you to put this on your tbr list!
