End of Summer Book Haul

Somehow, over the last month or so, I have managed to be just a little bit more restrained in my book buying habits than normal.  Which is particularly good given how many books I know I am going to buy in the next few months, because have you seen how many books are coming out?!

However, it does mean that I have yet to do a book haul, and so figured that that was something that definitely needed amending.  So here are some of the books that I have bought recently!

This is one that I have debated picking up for months and months now, as I have heard so many people rave about it, and knew I wanted to read it before the movie adaptation comes out next year.  So, a couple of weeks ago I finally caved and bought this one so that I can finally read it and see what all the hype is about.

The story follows Wade Watts, who in order to escape the real world has devoted his life to solving the puzzles left behind by the creator of the OASIS, the virtual utopia in which most people spend their time.

This just sounds like nothing that I have ever read before, and I can’t wait to read it for myself and see if it lives up to the hype.

After reading When We Collided earlier this year, and really enjoying it, I was quite interested in reading another of Emery Lord’s books.  I haven’t heard a ton about this book, but what I have heard has all been good, and I’ve seen a few people say that they really loved this one

This one tells the story of Lucy Hansson as her mother’s cancer reappears, and she suddenly lands as a counsellor at a camp for kids who have been through hard times.

I am really excited to read another book by Emery Lord and to read a contemporary that is set at a camp, and despite it now being Autumn I’m pretty sure I will be picking this one up fairly soon.

Ever since this one came out a couple of months ago, I have been dying to get my hands on it, and so whilst placing a book depository order for another book in this haul, I couldn’t help but pick this one up as well.

This book is pitched as The Breakfast Club meets Pretty Little Liars as whilst five students enter detention, only four make it out alive.

I saw this one everywhere when it was first released, but since I haven’t actually heard many peoples thoughts on this book, so I’m curious to enter into this one and see what I think.

The moment I finished Blue Lily, Lily Blue, I was desperate to just dive straight into this one, and so it didn’t take me long to pick this one up as soon as I could.  However, as soon as got over my initially desire to read this one, I realised that once I did pick this one up. I would soon finish it and then have finished this entire series for good.

That said, I am still so excited to read the finale of this series, which has already become one of my favourites, and to finally know how it all ends.

Lets hope it all ends well and is just as good as the rest of this gorgeous series!

This was actually the book that came in the August Fairyloot box, and so I don’t really know a huge amount about this one.  I have seen it floating a little bit, and was also super intrigued by the beautiful cover, so I was pretty excited when I saw that this was the book in the August Fairyloot.

This one follows Iris and Malina, who like all the women in their family, each have a unique magical ability.  But when their mother is attacked, they must discover the truth about their quiet lives and a wicked curse that runs through their entire family line.

I love the sound of this one and can’t wait to see what this magical story actually holds!

This was definitely not one I was planning to pick up, but when I saw it in this edition, I just couldn’t help getting it.  Not only is it such a gorgeous design, but I also already own The Great Gatsby in this same edition, and so I couldn’t resist picking it up to add to my collection.

This one tells the story of Antony and Gloria Patch, and their reckless marriage, as they await the inheritance of his grandfather’s fortune.

I can’t wait to dive into this, hopefully soon, and fall back into F. Scott Fitzgerald’s writing and into another of his stories.
