Introducing: Cheers

I think that once we become adults, we don’t get as many chances to discover those new, amazing picture books that are constantly hitting the market, and I honestly find that a bit sad. However, three years ago, I stumbled across this picture book at Barnes and Noble (The Fantastic Flying Books of Morris Lessmore) AND IT IS FRIGGIN’ AWESOME.

Me in a nutshell! This is soooooo cute…. Look at that black and white contrast to color! He’s performing surgery on a torn book! LOL!

Bahhh I can’t get over how beautiful these illustrations are. And the story, dayum….I think this book perfectly sums up any literary geek’s passion for books in the most simple yet heartwarming premise–a boy who gets caught up in a hurricane, becomes lost in life, but then inadvertently discovers his passion again through books…

So what’s the point of this post, you ask?

Of course, I just wanted to introduce a really good picture book to you all. It’s the best one I’ve read since I was a kid, and the ending just made me bawl tears. It’s really no wonder they made a short film based on it, and I do recommend checking the clip out here)

But more importantly, this post is my hello as this is my virgin post on this blog, Cheers. Now I do have a more mainstream (Harry Potter) blog elsewhere, but this is the place where I’m going to be more spontaneous and reactionary. Therefore, let me serve as the window to all the good and beautiful things that I see through my eyes–picture books, inspiring quotes over yonder, good books I’m into–and we’ll take it from there.

Me being spontaneous? Hmm, the world might explode.
