Nickelback freeze out Arnie, Adler wanted more from Guns N’ Roses and Bowie wins five awards – #NorthernRock Newsflash

#NorthernRock Newsflash is a written alternative to the news segment featured on the #NorthernRock music show on Maghull Radio – aired Monday 8-10pm.

Guns N’ Roses News

Former Guns N’ Roses drummer, Steve Adler, has said he was due to play a bigger role in the band’s 30th anniversary gigs but back injury sidelined him.

Adler join with Slash, Axl Rose and Duff McKagan for two shows with the band last summer but says he had been practicing for further appearances – unfortunately, it didn’t happen.
Nickelback News

Arnold Schwarzenegger had a go at Nickelback not long after Valentine’s Day. In a speech, he compared the Canadian rockers to herpes and – perhaps worse – US Congress.

The band was not best pleased and they took to Twitter to remind the big Austrian of his not-so-cool role in the “Batman & Robin” movie.

It was actually a rather fun exchange but I don’t think Arnie will be dropping names quite as often now just to make a point.

David Bowie News

It’s not been too long since the passing of David Bowie and he’s now been awarded his 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Grammy Awards.

At the ceremony, earlier this week, he posthumously took home all five golden gramophones for which he was nominated.

Bowie’s album, “Blackstar”, won Best Alternative Music Album, Best Engineered Album and Best Recording Package and the song, of the same name, earned the nods for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song.
