review 1: This was really, really good - it had me guessing all the way through, I kept changing who I thought was the bad guy, and ultimately I was surprised, though only because of the twist which took the emphasis off of the original mystery and turned it toward something that seemed insignificant at first. I think I would have been more satisfied with an ending that stayed true to the original mystery and didn't seem to come from nowhere, though there was a reference much earlier in the book that led back to the end. I am being very obtuse only because I don't want to give away any spoilers. It took much self fortitude to not peek at the end of the book, and I'm very glad I did because ultimately the journey was the more enjoyable part. I loved Ryan's narration and how he set ev... moreerything up like a TV show or movie. There were bits of humor here or there which had me laugh out loud, and that kept it a bit light while still in intense moments. Just a really well-constructed book.
review 2: A really exciting YA murder mystery with a plot that twists & turns to keep the reader guessing! A group of ex-school friends holiday together whilst some of them are harbouring dark secrets which, when revealed, bring about devastating consequences! I think that this story could easily be transformed successfully to either TV or maybe even a stage play. I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. less
