After picking up the OSCAAR Midget Championship last year, Ryan Brown will be back behind the wheel of a midget in 2017.
The current plan has him set to race the full Outlaw Midget schedule, along with select OSCAAR events – with hopes of being a champion once again. With the schedule in hand, he notes he’s most excited about heading to Sunset Speedway and Flamboro Speedway.
“My goal this year is to win more heats races and better my driving skills,” he said. “My expectations is to have fun doing it.”
Last year, Brown put together eight top-fives en route to the OSCAAR Midget Championship.
“I’m really excited about winning the championship last year,” he said. “I’ve came along way since I crashed at sauble speedway August 3rd 2013 and broke my hip and femur, and had to get back into the racing grove again.”
Looking back on the season that was, Brown notes the most memorable moment was both his parents being at Frostoberfest when he was crowned champion.
“They have not been back to the track since the Autumn Colours 2012 when I hit corner one head on and rolled down the back stretch at Peterborough Speedway,” he said.
