What Silver doesn’t know is that the site is more dangerous than she could ever imagined, and soon she’s in over her head. When Logan returns, sparks fly and attraction sizzles, but they’ll have to escape some very real demons if they have any chance of lasting forever.
Offensive and trite from start to finish. I was promised a vampire dating service book (which has so much potential I feel robbed) and on page one we get the main character calling another woman a skank. By page twenty-five, they’ve added fat shaming to their repertoire and we’ve learned that Silver isn’t like other girls and Logan isn’t like other vampires. We get offensive language tossed around regarding women and other vampires and I sort of wanted to vomit.
I actually imagined that this story was what would happen if a teenage fangirl and a dudebro got stuck together on a writing project… so I guess props for being able to voice two very different narrators so well?
I don’t know… all I know is that by the time they start throwing around racial slurs, I was done. But because I love you, darling readers, I skimmed through to the end. There’s a lot of derogatory terms for the Irish travelers and for the Romani (of which Logan is both) being used, and I flinched every time. Not once do they mention that this is offensive. Not once does anyone go “hey, this isn’t cool.’ And at the end (spoilers incoming, in case you wanted to read this racist piece of trash) it’s the *racial slur redacted* magic that saves them all! ISN’T THAT SO AMAZING! LOGAN IS SPARED BECAUSE HE’S A *racial slur redacted* AND HIS *racial slur redacted* SISTER SAW HIS FATE SO HIS *racial slur redacted* GRANDMOTHER CAST A *racial slur redacted* SPELL ON A GIFT GIVEN TO HIM BY HIS *racial slur redacted* MOTHER!

In the end, all I can really say about this book was that if I had a printed copy, I would’ve used tongs to throw it in the garbage. I’m disappointed in Sourcebooks Casablanca. I expect more from them than racial slurs. It’s 2017, guys. Do Better.
