review 1: I haven't read a collection of short stories in a while. I'm not the biggest fan of short stories in the first place. Some of these stories really stuck with me and I really enjoyed them. Some of them I had a hard time even making it past the first couple of pages (and I would eventually just skip on to the next one). And unfortunately, some of these stories didn't, in my opinion showcase dangerous women at all. A few stories revolved mostly around men and the 'dangerous women' in the story was a sort of afterthought. If you wish to read this collection, I recommend approaching it with the idea that your time is valuable and you should not waste it on a story that doesn't grab you in the first couple of pages. Move on to the next one. Because chances are there are a bunch ... moreof stories in this collection that you will really love.
review 2: 3.5 stars. A fun ride! Lots of good stories, some ok stories, and a couple stories I didn't really enjoy. I have to admit that I was a little disappointed with George R.R. Martin's novella at the end of the book - it read too much like a history book for me to really get into it and too many characters to be able to follow well. But it was still interesting to learn more backstory/history of the world that A Song of Ice & Fire is set in. Overall I did enjoy it, though, and would recommend it to others looking for a variety of quick reads. less

I enjoyed most of the stories, but stories are not really my thing, and none were standouts.
