I go through phases where I’m completely infatuated with a cuisine. In 2014 I was completely and totally in love with Thai. I was eating it several times a week at one point. My boyfriend at the time wanted to take me to a nicer Thai place that was a few steps above the local mom and pop I usually frequented. That’s how I was introduced to Spoon Eastside, which is located off of Moreland Avenue.
I always get the fried pot stickers as an appetizer, and then chicken panang with white rice as my entree. This most recent time that I visited, I sat at the bar. Even though I’m a creature of habit I decided to try something new, so I ordered a pink cucumber martini which was absolutely amazing.
Spoon has an upscale but laidback kind of feel to it. It’s perfect for a girl’s night out or for a date.
