This is one Trisha Telep’s anthologies. 1)‘Fade to Black’ by Sherri Erwin. 5 stars. Unusually interesting. Middle-aged romantic poetry teacher gets infected by vampirism. She's kidnapped to a private island and must choose between a cure or exploring the world forever. 2)‘Ode to Edvard Munch’ by Caitlin R Kiernan. 2 stars. Very short strange story about a piano player and a mysterious Central Park resident. 3)‘Fangs for Hire’ by Jenna Black. 3 stars. He meets a professor of vampire culture at UGA who begs him to turn her. 6)‘Viper’s Bite’ by Delilah Devlin. 3 stars. Immortal Knight series 6.2. Viper makes a secret, forbidden visit to his ex-wife in Seattle on their anniversary. 7)‘Dreams’ by Keri Arthur. 3 stars. Riley Jenson: Guardian series 3.5. During an unexpected visit from Quinn, they both discover a tunnel to a chameleon den in the basement. 8)'Love Bites' by Kimberly Raye. 4 stars. Dead End Dating series 3.5. Danielle Blue comes from a long line of Vampire Hunters, but she doesn't like the job. Max is a member of one of the oldest vampire families and doesn't want to kill her. 9)‘What’s at Stake?’ by Alexis Morgan. 5 stars. Chancellor Sloan is called in to be judge, jury and executioner for her vampire friend, Rafferty who's been set up for murder by his ex-wife. Dante's adopted daughter, Lianna is a human combat-trained magi who is asked by an old vampire/demon friend to kill his maker. Lianna also has to confront her estranged family. 11)‘To Ease the Rage’ by CT Adams & Cathy Clamp. 3 stars. Sylvia's dead police partner shows up as a vampire with partial amnesia. His only memory is of her and their secret love. 12)'Dancing with the Star’ by Susan Sizemore. 3 stars. A vampire and a ghoul go to see a multi-car accident. (sounds like a joke) The vampire ends up dreaming of dancing with a movie star from the accident. Made me laugh. 13)‘Play Dead’ by Dina James. 4 stars. Nikolai is bored. Until a human named Katrina enters his world. He wants to choose her for his bride but must take control of his vampire family first with the help of a powerful rogue. 14)‘In Which a Masquerade Ball Unmasks the Undead’ by Colleen Gleason. Gardella Vampire Chronicles 1.5. 3 stars. London 1819. Victoria Gadenella comes from a long line of vampire hunters. At a masquerade ball she has to juggle three admirers, her duty as a vampire slayer and as a English debutante. 15)‘A Temporary Vampire’ by Barbara Emrys. 3 stars. A world weary vampire travels to New Orleans where he meets a vampire mime who's being stalked, so he protects her 16)‘Overbite’ by Savannah Russe. 2 stars. This has its own separate review. Please refer to that for further info. 18)‘Remember the Blood’ by Vicki Pettersson. 2 stars. Very strange and confusing. Every year a vampire couple at midnight New Years Eve maust perform a wierd sacrifice to remain young. 19)‘The Sacrifice’ by Ruth Glick/Rebecca York. 3 stars. King Farral's castle is under siege by barbarians and ther're almost out of food. His daughter, Morgan decides to ask a nearby monster for help. 20)‘The Midday Mangler Meets His Match’ by Rachel Vincent. 4 stars. A reverse world where everyone is a vampire and live, work, etc during the night. They no longer drink from poeple, but animals only. It's told from the POV of a high shool girl who, with her little sister, are kidnapped by a serial killer. 21)‘The Music of the Night’ by Amanda Ashley. 4 stars. Chrisie has always been facinated by all thing 'Phantom the Opera'. So on her vacation she goes to Paris to visit the real Opera House and meets the real Phantom. 22)‘The Day of the Dead’ by Karen Chance. 3 stars. Cassandra Palmer series 3.1. This has its own separate review. Please refer to that for further info. 23)‘Vampire Unchained’ by Nancy Holder. 4 stars. The veil between good & evil has been ripped apart and the world has been overrun by supernaturals. One vampire wants to unite with the House of the Phoenix to stop it all. and in the process changes his future. 24)‘A Stand-up Dame’ by Lilith Saintcrow. 3 stars. Jill Kismet series 5.5. A PI gets killed and accidently made a vampire by the woman who hired him to find out if her husband is cheating. 25)‘Untitled 12’ by Caitlin R Kiernan. 1 star. One of the most disgusting ways to change into a vampire I've ever read.
review 2: Ho preso questo libro per avere una visione più ampia sul mondo dei vampiri e avere in un unico libro diversi stili narrativi. Posso dire che, fondamentalmente, l'ho comprato per imparare. Alcuni racconti mi sono piaciuti, altri mi hanno lasciato un po' l'amaro in bocca, come finale e in generale come tipo di storia; ma ovviamente capita quando il testo è variegato. In conclusione, questo libro mi è piaciuto, ma lo sconsiglio a chi non ama storie brevi e vuole una full immersion. Io ho trovato il libro a un ottimo prezzo, quindi non mi pento dell'acquisto. less
