I’m making the most of the long holiday weekend by fitting in sewing time whenever I can.
Here’s what the piece looked like when I got it.

I added the daisies in the corners and embroidered green over the centers to make them stand out. The daisies were cut from a piece of vintage trim.
Here’s a close up of the embroidery.
I stitched over the center in one direction, and then stitched from the opposite direction, weaving the thread through the first stitches to create a crosshatch design.
It gets harder as the rounds move forward because the space is more limited. I had other ideas, but didn’t want to cover most of the remaining background. That would make it too hard for whoever got it near the end.
