review 1: Little Owl likes a lot of things but his new scarf is not one of them. It's itchy, too long and ORANGE. So he tries to lose it several times but Mom always seems to bring it back. However, after a trip to the zoo his orange scarf may have disappeared for good. This is a very simple book with simple but really well done illustrations. Children will like this book because of how Little Owl acts when trying to send his scarf off to Peru and then to have the scarf appear at the end brings the whole story together and makes readers laugh a little too. This is a good book for children of all ages. Younger children may like it more because of the simple text.
review 2: I've now read Little Owl's Orange Scarf, Little Frog's Tadpole Trouble, and Small Bunny's Blu
... moree Blanket. I've enjoyed all four books. But. I do have favorites! I definitely prefer Little Owl's Orange Scarf and Small Bunny's Blue Blanket to Little Frog's Tadpole Trouble. I'm not sure if I could pick a favorite between the two. I love, love, love Small Bunny and his oh-so-perfect not-quite-clean blue blanket. But. I can also relate to Little Owl's scarf woes. Little Owl has a new scarf. It is very, very, very orange. Much too orange for his liking. And that's just the start. It is also too long and too itchy. He does not want to wear his orange scarf. He is super clever in thinking of ways to "lose" it. I loved seeing the scarf as a ribbon on a package for Grandpa. It was also cute to see it peeking out in the suitcase. He can't seem to lose his scarf at home, but, he does manage to lose the scarf at the zoo during a class field trip. So. A new scarf is made by Mama Owl. It is blue. It is just right. It is perfect for Little Owl and suits him just fine. I love how simple and true this one is. less
