From the minute that I started reading The Iron King I was enthralled. I mean, the title in itself is very intriguing. And you know from the back of the book (the synopsis) that, this book is about the Fae. Now, the original legends tell us that the Fae get hurt by iron. The Iron King? That is soo intriguing to me.
Im actually glad that I picked this book up when I had the chance to. Not only was this story refreshing; aside from the stereo-typical storyline, but it was somehow new. Like, Julie had captured the Fae legend in today’s society. Julie also focused more on the backstory of the Fae people, and I really enjoyed that to be honest. Not a lot of the Fae books I read actually include the story and legends. So I greatly appreciate how Julie not only included the legends, stories, but also set up the different Fae kingdoms/queendoms in this first book.
The Iron King is super action packed, too! I wasn’t really bored at all, at any time. Julie keeps her books interesting.
I found The Iron King to be quite predictable though to be honest. There were more than a few times where I predicted something, and it happened in exactly. I was really only really surprised once or twice.
