review 1: This was an entertaining and informative read regarding forging for wild foods and medicinal herbs, even within an urban environment. It's a good reminder that we don't even need to leave the city limits to find plants that can be both nutritious and healing. In reading this book, I was inspired to go out in the park behind our home to start learning the names of common plants that grow around here and how they can, and have been, used for food and healing.
review 2: An awesome read, really thought provoking."... Sit in front of a tree and you are looking at the incarnation of a three-hundred-million-year-old being that eats sunlight and drinks rain. The dirt on which we walk is made of stars. Dig under the pavement and you find the bones of saber-toothed tige
... morers. Every wild plant is a link to what once was a to what could be. It's all here, still. We have only to remember." less

Fantastic start, amazing premise, unfortunately mostly a conceited soapbox. Glad I read it though.

Always fascinated by Pacific NW/Portland history, flora, & fauna, especially the human bits.

A bit of useful plant information, plus some stuff about the planet and personal anecdotes.
