I applaud the determination and strength to overcome. After working in education for more than 25 years I am thankful to hear that along the way teachers in a vast array of settings helped, these beautiful children. It's why we teach. "My story could have gone dark had it not been for the educators that illuminated my light even though they only had a moment in time to keep it burning before I moved on. review 2: There are no words. This book was giv... moreen to me as a gift from someone very dear to me. She read it first and said she couldn't stop thinking of my family. I could only read bits and pieces at a time as the memories came thundering in. In some parts I had to push the story from my mind to continue on with my day. So many familiar scenes with a less than attractive character... It's hard to not feel a kinship with the author. As for me and my five siblings I can only desperately hope and pray that we can all leave a positive footprint as this authors siblings have. The bond that is formed between siblings in time of crisis and abuse stays well into adulthood. This book will give you chills and make you want to make a difference. less
