I’ve got to stop doing this. I woke up this morning, picked up my iPhone, and opened the WordPress app. I went to the reader and saw Linda G. Hill’s Just Jot It January post. Today’s prompt was suggested by Ruth over at Image & Word. Her word was “indelible.” But as I was reading Linda’s post in bed, barely awake, my sleepy eyes saw the word “inedible.”
And then, as I continued perusing the posts in my reader, still in bed and still not fully awake, I saw that the WordPress one-word prompt for today was “funnel.” I love funnel cakes like those you get at carnivals and fairs. They are not inedible at all. In fact, funnel cakes are actually quite edible.
So I decided to write another “twofer,” a post that would be linked to both Linda’s JusJoJan prompt and to WordPress’ one-word prompt.
Still in bed, I was busily tapping away at my iPhone’s virtual keypad composing my twofer post when the need to pee interrupted my creative process. After taking care of business, I decided to go downstairs to the kitchen and fix myself a cup of coffee. While sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee, I went back to my almost finished post about funnel cakes based upon the premise that such cakes are anything but inedible.
Now wide awake, I checked my reader once more before publishing my masterpiece declaring that funnel cakes are not inedible. That’s when I saw this post from blogger John Holton and discovered that the JusJoJan word was, in fact, “indelible,” not “inedible.” Damn.
Not wanting to start from scratch, I have decided to not waste one more minute today trying to respond to either of these prompts. See you all tomorrow.
