review 1: The beginning was fun and quirky and odd and then it kept going and going and I kind of paused and looked at my progress like damn, not even half-way yet?And then something happened and it started devolving and Pike was introduced and these other people were there and I have no idea why they were there; they just were and it was confusing and I kind of floated through the latter part, eyes glazed over and only partially comprehending the progression of things. All in all, an okay story, but the latter part seemed like it could have done with more time for the author to work through :/I'm starting to think I need a "lost potential" shelf...Edit:Ah. Seems I'm not the only one who was less than enthusiastic about the latter half. Que lastima.
review 2: I enjoy the
... morestrong sense of place in Rick Bettencourt's work. I am only vaguely familiar with some of the places he describes, but it seems that if I were to visit those towns/lakes/highways, they would be as described.Evan and Dillon both have secrets, whose is more egregious? They both feel hurt that the other wasn't honest. The use of billboards and racy ads for New England Beef was fun. less

Just what I look for in M/M: humor, real characters, not too much sex.
