review 1: This was an amazing memoir. Depression is something that is generally hidden because of the stigma attached to it. Rick Springfield brings his battle with his demons out into the open with candor. Having had the opportunity to meet Rick at a book signing for his other book, I can understand and respect his honesty and openness about it. This is a definite must read for anyone who is a fan of his or who is battling depression themselves.
review 2: I love Rick Springfield. Reading his story was unbelievable. The guy does not leave anything out when he discusses the story of his life. He talks openly about his marriage, children, career, depression, vices, everything. At times you want to hate him for what he does, but you can't help but love him. The writing styl
... moree is simple and you can't put the book down. I definitely recommend this for all of us who grew up in the seventies and eighties. He talks about General Hospital and all of his recordings. What I liked was how he loves dogs and was unaware that he famous album cover with the dog and guitar was his own dog. Again, I love Rick Springfield. He is a genuinely nice guy. less
