review 1: I have idolized rocker Rick Springfield since I was in junior high so when I won this book, I was ecstatic beyond words. I will admit this book seemed a little disjointed at first telling multiple stories, flipping back and forth with each chapter. I didn't think I was going to understand this book. However, as I progressed in my reading, everything came together and I couldn't put Magnificent Vibrations down. I love, love, love this book. It challenges the reader to ease up on preconceived notions and beliefs and think outside the box, even if it's only for the time you spend with the book's characters. There's some colorful language, descriptions and scenarios, so this book would be for a mature reader. By the way, I received this book through the Goodreads First Read... mores program.
review 2: no stars means i couldnt even get through it. three stories, one of which is in italics, the hardest for my eyes to deal with. maybe if it had stuck to just one story it would have been ok. the stories dont seem at all connected, i think i got maybe a third through it? i dont like reading books that do that, its hard enough for me to keep track of one story and all it's characters, let alone three or more that seem completely unrelated. also i just stop caring enough to keep making the effort to remember. i never understood this style of writing. it seems gimmicky and pointless, a cheap trick to add interest to a story that doesnt hold up on its own. i cant really say bc i didnt finish it. less

Good read. Great message. A weak ending. Most amusing language use.

Very imaginative, great story, but a little too male for my taste.
