Roald Dahl Autobiography
review 1: This book is an extension of Dahl's autobiography "Boy". Roald's wife has added family photo's & stories. These show in a light-hearted way how Roald Dahl used many a childhood event, or remembered character, to hang his stories around. I was introduced to Dahl's children's books when reading them to, or with my children. Much of the humour in his books appeals to adults, as well as children. Perhaps because he did recall so well his childhood and we identify ourselves in the stories. Read this book to find the origins of his books - and because it is good read!
review 2: i never finished any autobiography or biography before (i have 3 books at home and never last till the final page).and the back cover stated the book is for young reader aged 8 to 12.funny,
... more the only biography that i finished is for children's read.but let me tell u one thing, the book is hilarious.mr dahl has a witty way to tell his story ans i ended up laughing at most pages.and he really pour his emotion on what he was writing.u can sensed his purest love to his mother, his fondest affection towards one of his teacher and close friends and his discontented towards bullying and unappropriated punishment during school.i never read any of his books (yes, i watched charlie and the chocolate factory - reason:johnny depp- and heard of fantastic mr fox)but never truly read any of his work.more about boy is the first.and i enjoyed it very much. less
