review 1: This was an interesting story about a horse who carried ammunition for the troops in the Korean War. I enjoyed the story about the horse but there was a lot of technical information about the weaponry. Apparently this horse made headlines back in the mid-1950s when she was brought to the Marine base in California. I can't imagine how I missed it at the time because that was during my horse-adoring phase.

... morelorious retirement & stardom in America at Camp Pendleton. Reckless was truly a hero. I was not impressed however, with the author's writing style, it was too familiar and cutesy for me. I would have preferred a more non-fiction telling without the emotion she added. less
