review 1: This is my first time reading this author. Maybe 3.5 stars. I really like books about the ex-military strong heroes and this was perfect for that. I liked Jazz also for her strength. My issue with the book was the story being forced. I felt like some of the scenes could have been handled better. Most of them fit the book, but there was extra dialog or information that didn't really fit in the scene. Sometimes they even kissed passionately when it really wasn't necessary or appropiate. Made me feel as if this was the authors first novel. According to her booklist, it probably was. Overall I liked the book, but it could have been executed better. I will definitely continue the series and hope that the flow improves.
review 2: Really 3 1/2. I found it ju... morest a little hard to believe that a woman with her past and so determined to keep it from being found out-would go for any kind of occupation that involved background checks,being involved with law enforcement and the possibility of media attention much less become a SWAT team sniper. But I liked the story enough to finish it quickly and would read the author again. And really, who reads romance for it's realism to begin with? less
