review 1: Ron's Big Mission is a biography about a Ron McNair, Challenger astronaut,who dreamed about becoming an astronaut. this is a story about how he peacefully integrated his local library. I would use this book in conjunction with Black history month or a social studies lesson. I would use this book as independent reading for students who are curious about that time period or with students who need some exposure to a story other than their own. The characters are developed very well so it could be used as character analysis. I would use it with lower elementary but older elementary would benefit from it as well.

It is a fictionalized account of a real incident that happened to Ron McNair, a little boy who was deni... moreed a library card because he was black. I would tell you how his story ends, but you should read it yourself. THis is a great book that will teach a story about the civil rights movement that's not often heard, and it was a little kid who stood up for his rights. Fantastic book. less
