review 1: This set contains I Love My Breakup, which is the story I read that led me to buy the set, along with I Love My Office Fling, I Love My Freak Out, and I Love My Destiny. I didn't enjoy the set as much as I had the first story I read. There was a little too much Devil Wears Prada (and why is the HR guy at the shows anyway?), a little too much risk taking, and the resolution was a little too out of the blue. I didn't like that men were discarded when they were no longer convenient to the plot. On the plus side, there's no slut shaming.
review 2: I would first like to thank Sabrina Lacey for a full copy of Jessica's story for an honest review. Now, a quick rewind. I got a free copy of I LOVE MY BREAK-UP for my Kindle some weeks back and quickly fell into a fit of h
... moreysterical laughter just after having read the second page. This short novella was the intro to meeting Jessica - where we find her talking to herself as she has her first ever 'meet and screw' encounter with a complete stranger. She's in her prime and, not to mention, pissed off and wary since having learned her ex-boyfriend had been cheating on her for quite some time.Having read this full ebook version it introduces us to Jessica in a more serious tone as we witness the fallout between Jessica and her ex just before she discovers his infidelity. It then progresses to Jessica's experience in I LOVE MY BREAK-UP. With the serious scenario at the beginning if this ebook, I had difficulty merging into the comedic feel of the story right away - the transition was too quick for me.The middle of the story was great as we continued to get to know Jessica more and experience her spontaneous adventure. I enjoyed her friends and the conversations they shared. The ending, however, gave me a little whiplash. Jessica's story goes into fast motion and suddenly she's wanting to jump into another relationship with a guy she barely knows but feels as though she's known all her life.My thoughts: I like Jessica's character, she's real, very raw, and I would love to have a friend like her. I wish this full book version had started with I LOVE MY BREAK-UP and perhaps later on revealed how Jessica and her ex broke up. I also wish the ending had the same steady pace as the rest if the story. I felt robbed from having experienced Jessica's revelation from being promiscuous and feelings of hurt by her ex's disloyalty to feeling a new love for this new guy and overcoming the challenges to trust again. The book had left me feeling jipped and hanging on to wanting more of Jessica's story. less
