review 1: We left off when the Inferno Motorcyle club had helped Blaze and Dani get even with the man she thought was her father but he was the monster that killed her mother. Her real father Benicio helped the club with man power and wanted to get them away from all the other bad things Guillermo was having them do but mad dog the clubs president had other plans for theclub he was stealing from Benicio and wanted to link up with the mexician drug lord. When one of the biker had found out what mad dog was doing and had proof it . mad dog sent Axe and tank to go get rid of them but when Axe was with them he wanted to see the proof he knew mad dog was up to something and when they are surround with open gunfire it is tank who is killed and then the place is set on fire and axe having ... moremilitary training got them out just in time to see it was his bike club who tried to kill them. So they end up meeting crunch’s wife and daughter somewhere and they all went to the one place he knew they wouldn’t find them west Bend Colorado his hometown. It had been 3 years since he was home after his mother passed away. His father told him to never come home again as long as he was in this club. When Cade Aka Axe shows up his father isn’t happy with him but allows him to stay since he has April and little girl Mac with him. June has always loved Cade Austin since she was a young girl and when a tragic accident kills her parents and her sister hangs herself she is forced to move away and live with her aunt. She kept up with cade and knew he was in the marines and she went into the navy and became a doctor and went on a tour with some marines hoping she would run into him. After having some trouble with her job she quit and moved back to West Bend Colorado and was going to be living across from the field from the Austin’s home she was going to run a Bed and Breakfast since it was becoming popular with skiers . she pulled into her drive and got out to see Mr. Austin standing there so she went over to talk to him. Stan as he told her to call him was so happy to see her and they were chatting when the sound of the bikes pulled and then a van. One of the men took his helmet off and it was him Cade she knew those eyes and when walked up to the deck it was his father who slapped him and then little mac started crying and Cade picked her up and calmed her down as her father didn’t say a word. The more time he was home working he couldn’t help but remember the times he was with her and she was always his one true love. June tries hard not to give into cade but finally she cant fight her feelings she has for them. Cade has been trying to keep crunch and his family safe as they know if the club finds out they didn’t die they would come for them and kill them. They where finally feeling safe and June was out riding and Cade and Crunch went into town with Mac it is when cade is pulled over by one of his old class mates who has the hots for June and tries to plant drugs in the car and takes them to the jail. It is then cade hears the police scanner going off about a fire at his father’s home he runs out and drives as fast as he to get to his dads house knowing it was going to be bad . This is where is lost it and cried for awhile and it is still stuck in my head. They get a hold of Blaze and go to Benicio and show him that mad dog had been stealing from him and trying to get in with the Mexican drug lords . This time its personal and they take out the ones who did this to his family and to April. They have a meeting and bring in mad dog who has been beaten up and has his hands tied behind his back still threatening them. The club votes for his death and Axe is the first to stab him and then Crunch and Blaze then the others walk up and pass the knife around. So with everyone is gone axe aka cade tells Blaze he is done and going back to Colorado to live his life with June and make his father proud of him. Crunch sends his daughter to Aprils mom so he can try to deal with her death ,This book is still sticking with me after a week of reading it . I was gifted this bookf or my honest review and loved it ! I am a big fan of hers now:)
review 2: My review:SPOILER ALERT!My heart broke bit by bit, reading this book. So many regrets, so many misunderstandings and so much heartbreak over and over again. I was not just an impartial observer, but part of this story. Shouting aloud when Cade(Axe) or June did something I did not like. I wanted to throttle the sheriff! (he deserved a slow and lingering death for his part in the whole tragedy and does not deserve to be mentioned by name!) I cried with the death of Stan and April. I was quite surprised at how bloodthirsty I was by wanting revenge on those who killed them. Sabrina Paige is an excellent author. Every time I read her books I am more and more impressed. She writes with an intensity that drags you into the story and makes you root for the characters. I cannot wait to read Breaking Hammer. I hope there are many more books to come!
