review 1: This was one of those books that frustrated me even though I really liked the story. I liked how feisty Gabby is as well as how much she cares about her family and other people in general. Anthony was not just dreamy but also so loving and concerned for all that he considers family. But as the reader I could see the misunderstandings coming from a mile away. And sometimes those misunderstandings, while driving the story, can be too much for my taste. When I want to take the hero and/or heroine by the shoulders and shake some sense into them and tell them to just talk it out more than a few times in a book I get annoyed.That being said, I still really enjoyed the story between Anthony and Gabby. And I'm glad the author let us know Sebastian's motivation. As much as h... moreis character is usually the one the author wants to you dislike, Samantha Grace humanized him and even made him a sympathetic character so he can be used in other stories.The book kept my attention enough for me to read the next in the series when I get a chance.
review 2: Both the hero and heroine in this book made me cringe. If they'd ever TALKED to one another, they would have solved many of their problems. Add in a rival who just can't take no for an answer (He's supposed to be the hero of the next book. No, thank you.) because the heroine keeps leading him on. Mix in a dose of unnecessary self-blame for each of our main characters. Stir it all up with a LOT of background stories that weren't adequately explained (despite the fact that this was the first book of the series), and you have a book that was aggravating and confusing and full of lifeless characters. I won't be reading the next. less
