review 1: You are not here was about a teenage girl Annaleah. Just like everygirl falls in love, she fell in love with her boyfriend Brian. Annaleah was positive they were going to be together forever but things dont't always go as planned. Annaleah gets a call saying her boyfriend is dead. Annaleah doesn't believe it at first Brian was healthy he was young a junior and was athletic. Brian was announced dead on the basketball court on the spot by perimedics. The chambers in his heart thickened and it blocked the flow of blood. But what do you do when your true love dies. Annaleah goes into shock and becomes depressed. Annaleah doesn't leave her room for days, has no contact with friends and feels like she doesn't want to live anymore without Brian. But when Annaleah starts to move ... moreon there is something holding her back. Will she ever find true love again? or better yet will her life be the same ever again?
review 2: This book was very,VERY interesting. The plot wasn't brilliant, because clearly that was not the point of the book.Every emotion and heartache Annaleah experienced was so real and personal; there was no boundary to how much she would say.I loved that it was written in verse. And,though I've never exactly been in her situation myself, I could relate to quite a few parts of the book---page 113 is about trying to decide what is worse: someone being dead and gone or someone being alive and gone. She and I had both come to the same conclusion,and I felt connected to her from then on as many of our opinions were the same. It is a quick read,only about three hours for me,so why not just spend the time and see how it moves you. less
