review 1: Although the heroine is adventurous and rather spunky, as she acknowledges herself at some point, she is also predominantly concerned with her own needs, which is a bit wearing. Likewise her impetuous temper leads her to do a lot of storming out and slamming metaphorical doors. Again, she later reflects on how childish she's been behaving, but the reader has had to put up with her various tantrums and foolish ideas throughout most of the book. The hero is so much a slave to his carnal impulses that it's a wonder he can go around in public. I found the beginning of the book rather hard to get into, partly because of the above-mentioned annoyances, but it improved somewhat as the story progressed. My copy is an ARC.
review 2: OMG ... So so so bad...where do i st... moreart...okay not a fan of the "i'm going to make them see that they really love me heroine" especially when they trap the poor Hero into marriage. I'm a firm believer of the "he's just not that into you" school of thought where the Hero needs to do the work... So onto the Hero... yeah, leaving the heroine like that (even if i can't stand her) makes you scum too. So maybe these two twits were really made for each other...Now the family who was so supportive of the heroine until the Hero returns and then they abandon the poor girl and tell her that she needs to make it right with her husband, who doesn't have to do anything really to make it up to her...there's a bad bad bad taste in my mouth after this one. less
