The Freaks MC
review 1: Very different MC read for me. I thought it had a much more realistic tone to it. Writing style was interesting. At first, I was not sure if I liked it, but as a read, I found myself enjoying it's unique style. The timeline moved fast--like really quick. It seemed to jump from months to even years between paragraphs. POV also switched up quickly. Usually these things bother me, but I felt the story itself was incredibly interesting, and the flow moved forward pretty smoothly. I thought the characters were done very well, with good development. The story really focuses more directly on the H, Joe, and the "loves" of his life--the h, Beth, his ex's daughter, Amy, and even his ex Maria. (It is usually also a turnoff for me for the H in a story to have feelings for an... moreyone besides the h, but I felt it worked well in this case). The romance doesn't start right away, and really isn't a focus until more like the second half. Intimate scenes are spicy, but more on the "suggestive" side. I loved Beth's character, and felt she was a very strong, independent leading lady. The plot line itself had some basic characteristics I expect from a MC book, including violence, but it was the emotional punch that surprised me. I actually was tearing up in parts. I am very glad I came upon this, and will be reading more from this author.
review 2: Loved this book. As always TFC press author deliver the wonderful story. It was bittersweet, heartwarming and one part and gut wrenching in another. It wasn't ordinary biker romance. It was about a family. And not only define by blood. it was how a person stand by through thick and thin. Not giving up. Also loved unconditionally. The story is about the enforcer of MC - a killer - and his fatherly love for the sweet little girl who keep his sanity and humanity in check. It's wasn't because she was his blood - which she was not - also wasn't for her mother, whom he loved crazily. Just because it is.14 years span their journey was told. A great story about loosing and winning. less
