review 1: Just...wow. A real page-turner. An incredible story of unbelievable good luck (or fate, depending on who you are), over and over again, in the face of some truly crappy odds. For any women who have devoted themselves to children in one form or another, out there in need of a boost, Saroo's story will embolden you to continue fighting the good fight and validate the choices made, both intentional and intuitive, which equal out to sticking to your guns of LOVE, no matter what.
review 2: Brierly’s story is nothing short of miraculous. I’ve been reading a lot of heavy material lately. This book has enormous tragedy, suffering, and heartbreak. But stick with it and through almost fairy-tale-like serendipity Saroo’s life story makes you believe that there
... more really can be a happily ever after. The book is a quick read because it’s a page-turner. You feel like you’re taking the journey with the five-year-old Saroo, not knowing what will happen next, hoping for the best, but feeling hopeless at the many twists and turns. Then, as the story progresses to Saroo’s life in Australia as an adult on his search for his village, I couldn’t stop reading, knowing that he’d find his birth family. I was anxious to know what had happened, wanting details about the long-awaited reunion.Saroo’s story is amazing, a stay-up-all-night-reading true story. less
