review 1: Interesting story. I liked the idea of Zombies in this story. It was different, and seemed well thought out. I really like Jay. He is a survivor, and willing to do what it takes to keep going. I respect that his losses haven't broken him. The ending felt very abrupt, and I'm hoping that there will be more to come. There's a lot I'd like to find out more about. I'm thinking their plans are not going to work out quite the way Jay hopes.
review 2: It completely blew my mind... I LOVED it. I always like a new twist on zombiedom and that short-story was original on that level. I think the way the narrator evolved through the story was really interesting; discovering himself that even though he knew "real" zombie were different from movie zombies, he just didn't know
... more how much until he had met one from up-close. The romantic side was very interesting probably because by the time it comes around, you already care very much for the principal characters. Sometimes short stories are so short that you don't get to the point where you feel like you know the characters, but that wasn't a problem in "I Fell in Love with a Zombie", it's long enough that the character development is all there. I really like the hopeful note of the end. If the author would continue the story or reinvent it as a novel, I would read it. less
