review 1: I received a copy from the author for an honest review. In the second installment of the Naughty Nookie Series, we find Simone (Mona) avoiding calls and messages from Zane. After the shocking revelation, Mona judges him and doesn't want to forgive him. Mainly due to her southern religious upbringing but I would think I might make the same call. It is a little out of the norm and would have to give it more thought. Yet Mona can't get the Zane out of her mind. After the one night of mind blowing sex, first in her life, she feels a connection to Zane that she has never felt with any other man. Then on top of all this her best friends are telling her to at least let him explain. After Zane uses Mona's job as a housekeeper to confront her so he can explain. He wants her to be hi... mores mistress or in her words a kept women. Still unable to wrap her mind around this Mona is torn. Between her moral upbringing and the attraction she feels to Zane she isn't sure she can agree to his proposition. Then she loses everything and throws her world into chaos she can no longer deny the sexual attraction she has with Zane.Once again you are left with a major cliff hanger at the end and you really have to wonder where this is going. If it going where I think it is. Hot times ahead.Once again Serena has great characters, funny, witty dialogue and a tight story that is hard to find in short erotica romance books.Definite read for lovers of erotica
review 2: Okay, I have to start off by saying the reason this installment was my least favorite has more to do with personal preference. I hate being privy to one character's EVERY thought! I'd much rather read dialogue or narrative than page after page of rambling, insecure, irrelevant thoughts such as the ones Mona had throughout most of this book. I also didn't enjoy the cloak-and-dagger aspect that dominated a big chunk of this installment. I'm not into history or artifacts or things of that nature so I didn't find the missing bi interesting at all and I felt like what was once an erotica/romance story changed into something I wasn't motivated or in the mood to read. Throughout this series the mysterious, complicated, ultra sexy Zane has become my favorite character. The fact that he was absent from a big part of this installment only added to my lack of enjoyment. I didn't dislike Jake but I wasn't crazy about him either. And I like Mona less and less as the story continues so having this part be mainly about the two of them made for a very frustrating read. I do have to say that each installment ends in a way that makes me curious as to what will happen next. I'm sure I will ultimately read the last part that I received but for right now I need a break from Mona.Again, these are just my thoughts and personal preferences. To each her own, right? less
