review 1: From the moment this book begins, you will be either laughing with her or shaking your head in agreement with her observations. She talks about husbands, money, politics, media, work ethic, southern belles, of course bubba, and so much more! The book is nicely broken up into these various topics, neatly divided into short subsections, and then each chapter ends with several southern recipes. I was thankful to have had a chance to read this book and know that I'm not the only one thinking there are a lot of people out there "straight running crazy!" She conveys the southern culture, charm, and humor in a very unique and informative way. Her sense of humor throughout the book, had me saying to my hubby (and sometimes to whomever was close by), "Hey listen to this..." It's ju... morest one of those books that is too good not to share! Her observation of how the media cries wolf way too often, was spot on! "Drama sells, but...crying wolf too often can have disastrous effects on your credibility." I can honestly say, this will be one of those few books that I will read again and again. This southern Mama says you have got to read this book or people may think you are "straight running crazy!" (I apologize if that came across a little strong..."Southern Mamas are known for being subtle, like a freight train!")DISCLOSURE: I was graciously provided a free copy of this book from Litfuse to review it. I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
review 2: This book is absolutely hilarious! Laugh-out-loud-tears-down-your-face-funny! At one point I found myself laughing so hard with tears running down my face that I couldn't hardly answer the phone when it rang. Then I started telling the person on the other end of the line all about the book. The big question is - How did I miss the first book (Suck Your Stomach In & Put Some Color On)? Now I am gonna have to look that one up. Ladies! and I say ladies because men just can't appreciate this kind of funny, you do not want to miss this one! If you follow everything in Shellie's book you are guaranteed a happier, easier, and all round better life (if not funnier)!Thank you thank you thank you Litfuse for sending me this book to review! I honestly do not know how I ever got this far in life and marriage without it! less
