review 1: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I will admit to being hesitant to read this book as it is not the type I typically go for--plus I don't often come across a paranormal historical romance. However, I am not sorry I read this book. I was incredibly entertained from the first chapter to the very end. Belle (one of the two main characters) is very feisty and determined to complete the task she was asked to do, regardless of what Rufus (other main character, kind of the antagonist) says about it. The supporting characters were also very entertaining and I loved the family as a whole. The mystery of the book was a tiny bit predictable, but that did not deter from my enjoyment of this book. I liked that Belle was very insistent that in order t... moreo love her, Rufus needed to love ALL of her, not just the parts he approved of. The paranormal "ghostiness" of this book was not what I expected--although to be honest I wasn't sure what to expect. I had steeled myself for some major creepiness, but thankfully nothing that will keep me up at night! (If that's what you're looking for, sorry, this book will disappoint you!) Also, there is very little smut in this book--I would say it's a pretty clean read! Nothing that I would hesitate over if I was allowing my (nonexistent) fourteen year old daughter to read. I gave this story four stars instead of five only for a few personal reasons--I felt the at times the story moved a little slow, but nothing too dull. Plus, as I mentioned before I wasn't exactly super surprised about the ending, so that also contributed. I hope Shereen Vedam will write more novels featuring some of these characters--perhaps a book each for Phillip and Susie! At the very least...an epilogue for Belle and Rufus? Thank you very much for sharing your book!
review 2: Lady Belle is now without a man to marry her because she can see ghosts. She doesn't hide what she does. She is called to help a friend of her grandfathers. Seems that her husbands spirit is haunting their home and she needs help.Lord Rufus has no time to find a wife. He is trying to clear his name. He is being charged with killing his father. He thinks all Belle is doing is trying to be his wife. He is surprised when he finds out she is there to find a ghost.I enjoyed reading this book. I got romance, mystery, and suspense in this story. I got so caught up in this book and couldn't put it down. I couldn't wait to see if the mystery would ever be solved and I also got some laughs along the way. I have to say this is one of the first books that I have read where the guy falls in love with the woman in the middle of the book. The only problem that I had was in the book I read a lot of the words were together and it was hard to read it like that. I did work it out and I didn't make it take out the enjoyment of the story. This is the first time that I have ever read a book by this author and I can't wait to read more books from her. less

Closer to 3.5 stars, but I'll round up for an interesting premise of a Regency medium as a heroine.

A fun-filled Regency romp. I think Vedam may become one of my favorite authors.
