review 1: That was really different from what I was expecting...or maybe just so completely different from the books I've been reading (which tend to be heavy on the romance). I really enjoyed it though. My heart ached for Izzy and JD, and even Max and Emma. I thought the whole premise actually worked, and I thought Max's initial thoughts on how to help, and his slow transformation was believable. The holding cell stuff was kind of corny, but the meat of the story was touching and effective.

For the first time Max truly experiences terror, panic, humiliation, and even abuse through JD’s body.Author Sherry Gammon deals with a very difficult and emotional subject in Souls in Peril: bullying. She writes about the effects on the lives of those on the receiving end in a realistic and sensitive manner as well as touching on some of the possible reasons of those who do the bullying. This story had me trapped in its strong ebb and flow of escalating emotions. It pulled me along like a relentless undercurrent through to the end. Be ready with a few tissues. less
