review 1: I got to 13% and it was a slog. There was much telling and little showing. Books which feature glamorous models, a fairy tale wedding dress, telling me that the female MC dresses fashionable end to turn me off. There was so much "me, me, me, me" by the female MC that there was no room in her life for a love interest. People were always shouting, rarely just speaking to each other. The maid of honor was oblivious. when the bride got a phone call and her end of the conversation was something like "Where are you? ... Why aren't you marrying me? ... We need to talk." The maid of honor asked what was going on. It would have been pretty clear to me.I read as far as the male MC joining the action, but I was so tired of the female MC, that I just couldn't keep g... moreoing.
review 2: A young woman defies her mother's wishes and dates the bad boy in highschool. They decide to marry. She has a lavish wedding, but the groom is a no show. The bride is decimated and can't get past the hurt, and disgrace. 5 years pass and her mother dies. For some reason, her mother won't let her have her inheritance unless she goes on several trips with this ex that she can't get over. He will get 25 million if they go on these trips together and she will get 25 million. They start on the trips and she is having a hard time not falling in love with him again. The trip destinations sound like a lot of fun-very adventurous and I am sure they will end up back together again in the next books. less
