review 1: I wanted to like it more. It had the potential to be an excellent storytime where the kids could yell out the answer to the rhyming riddle. Some of the rhyming would be too hard for little ones to guess, though. I'm disappointed because it looks really cute and has a cute little story with it, too. I can see how it would be a good bedtime story for a kiddo that likes to memorize a book and read it over and over and over again so he can guess the rhymes.
review 2: The aptly-named Mr. Bungles is having one of THOSE days. From the moment he wakes up and bumps his head, things go awry. His bad luck follows him to school where he accidentally sets free Nibbles, the class hamster. Off the students and Mr. Bungles go, trying to catch their fast-moving pet. Young reade... morers will enjoy the rhyming text, vividly-colored illustrations and how the author leaves a sentence hanging with the missing word provided on the next page. I liked how the next-to-last illustration shows the class's simple version of the day's events. This is a classroom filled with love, even when the teacher's day hasn't been the best one of his teaching career. less
