review 1: Steven Grayson’s book, A Paramedic’s Story was a great read for me. Obviously from the title of the book you can infer that this book is going to be about the things that a paramedic goes through on a daily basis. Steven or “Kelly” which is his nickname, shares stories about some of the craziest and most unusual calls he has responded to. Along with describing the calls he goes through, we also get to follow him through all the levels of his medical training. I like just about every aspect of this book for many reasons. Kelly was very talented in the ways he put a visual representation of each scene he responded to into the mind of his reader. There were multiple occasions where I felt like I was in the rig and right there on the calls with him. With him doing th... moreat, it made reading this book almost like a learning experience. Personally I couldn't find anything wrong with this book, all the aspects of a great book were here. I most definitely would recommend this book to anyone that likes reading a book that will give you an in-depth look at would some people go through on a daily basis. Also it would be a good book for those interested in the medical field because I will show them just how unpredictable things can be and how strange as well. Already I have a friend who wants to read the book so we will see if they feel the same way about it as I did once they’re done with it.
review 2: Again, another case where we need to have half stars. I have tremendous respect for anyone who runs into a situation where sane, rational human beings shouldn't go. My stepfather is a volunteer firefighter so I know quite well what it is entailed. I liked the fact that this book detailed some of the issues that paramedics and EMTs face daily. There was kind of a disconnect between the work stories and the personal stories though. I wish it had either concentrated on all of the work stuff or all of the personal. It would also have been a great story if it had detailed how emergency medicine can take a toll on one's personal life.Either way I liked it but it's not for the faint of heart. less

A great book to take to the cottage for the weekend. A very passionate and spiritually alive read.

This was a great book with lots of humor. However, the foul language was not necessary. :(

lot of experiences strung together without much through-line and a LOT of ego...
