review 1: It's all sunshine, lollipops and rainbows in this contemporary pantomime set in a 'Pollyanna' suburb near you, populated by the most open minded and accepting people you could ever hope to meet. The exception being the nasty panto villain who comes in the guise of the over zealos god lovin' momma who we can almost see twirling her out-sized moustache at every opportunity, I kept wanting to shout out 'she's behind you'!This story is so over-the-top you need to be careful not to trip over the kitchen sink and so far fetched that at times it is more like reading fantasy than fiction. No one seems to be allowed to react to anything in a realistic way, instead it's a parallel gay universe where wives are a bit peeved at their gay husbands but ultimately accepting as they move s... morewiftly on to new spouses who are equally open to this very modern familial set up. Spouses (current & ex) are accepting, kids are accepting, friends and neighbours are accepting, employers are accepting, the only two doubters were gfy Nathan and belt-wielding Ruth; for the epilogue I was expecting them all to pull out the tambourines and give a rousing rendition of kumbaya while looking dewy eyed at each other.....
review 2: I started this before bed last night and I became so absorbed in the story I couldn't rest. I finally put my kindle down around 3 AM so I could get a few hours before I had to get up this morning. Needless to say I picked it right back up with my morning coffee and I have just finished. Andrew is a married man with a child. Nathan and his lovely, yet very pregnant new wife have just moved into the neighborhood. Oh and Andrew is gay, his marriage to Stephanie is one of need not love. His mother is an awful person and it is because of her Andrew and Stephanie married. (Let me say here that several times over the course of this story I truely wished I could reach into my kindle and throttle Ruth, Andrews mother).Nathan and Andrew start a torrid affair and every time Nathan runs away. Back and forth these two go and it doesn't seem like there will be an end in sight and then Stephanie wants a divorce and Andrew is moving to LA.Wow! Talk about an emotional roller-coaster. I was up and down, round and round over and over again. I laughed and cried in the span of just a few pages. There was one moment in particular that I gasped and it was all I could do to continue reading. If you have already read this book then you know exactly which part I am talking about! I had one of those author hate moments that we all have at the thought of "Oh no, he/she did not just do that to me!" But I pulled up my big girl panties and continued and with in a few pages I was able to breathe again. If you haven't read this, then what are you waiting for? It is that good! Buy it now you won't be disappointed! less

Andrew, a gay man married to and living with the mother of his son meets new neighbors, Nathan and his wife, newly weds expecting their first child. A friendship begins and escalates into more but hits snags when Andrew’s wife asks for a divorce to marry the man she has been seeing and is in love with. Many twists and turns prevent you from putting this story down. Lots of heartache and tears from time to time, but a very lovely bromance.

I actually enjoyed this book though it could be frustrating at times.
