review 1: Wow.I'm pretty sure that book here is the least credible contemporary gay romance I have ever read.I'm not going to detail everything that went wrong since some reviews already did that job well enough. I'm simply going to say that not one character appealed to me and the plot was so out there despite its attempts to sound realistic I'm almost amazed.I kept pushing myself to read it because I figured since a lot of reviews were good, there had to be something worth the praise at some point.I'm sorry to say I never found it.
review 2: My issues with this book were its pacing and detail. The characters could have been so much more likable if their emotions and pasts could have been described in detail and made a major part of the story instead of just hinted at.
... moreAlso, the pacing of this book was mind boggling. The whole story encompasses years, which is unusual but acceptable if it was consistent or easily discernible. But after each chapter, it takes two pages to figure out how much time has passed and then try to read the subtext to determined what has happened in that time jump. And these time jumps also skip over significant evens like marriage and babies of the main characters!! I like a lot of books by this author, but this one had such a flawed structure to me that I can't recommend it. less
