review 1: Hilarious and moving! I really enjoyed this book, particularly due to the authors wit. I think many people can relate to feeling the desire for a spiritual journey and the author certainly took one that didn't take her where she expected. To me this book is more about spirituality and finding meaning in life than yoga, which wasn't what I expected but I probably enjoyed it more because of that. And yes it's a bit on the lengthy side and could be more concise at points.
review 2: I saw Suzanne speak at AWP this year and was delighted by the honesty and humor in her panel. I laughed out loud, so I knew I'd be doing a lot of laughing as I read her book. I didn't expect to cry within the first fifty pages, or that I'd cry several times throughout the course of the
... morebook. It's a cliche to say "I felt like she knew me", and yet, I did. I also fear death, struggle with religion and faith, and wonder what the fuck I'm supposed to be doing with my life. And Suzanne doesn't give me an answer - as with her trip to Bali, there's no "and this is the way to fix your problems" punchline. Instead, the book offers a much more comforting, yet difficult, suggestion: that there's no 'right way' to fulfillment. All you can do is be honest about the questions you're asking of the universe, keep searching for your answers, and not give up hope that you'll find them. less

loved it! and gave me courage to fully enjoy doing the non-yogic things I still like to indulge in.

Light, funny, youthful story about a lovely woman's early life.

Quit reading after about 20 pages. Boring journal entries.
