review 1: This is one of the best sports manga in recent years. It’s full of all the action and fun that one expects from the genre and populated by a great cast of characters. Kagami and Kuroko are a comedic duo in the same vein as classics like Laurel and Hardy, and every single character has a quirk to make him/her original and endearing. My one problem is that the fast paced action of basketball isn’t really translating that well, even with the action-tense poses and movement lines that make up most of the art during the games. It might just be that I saw the anime first and the action there plays awesomely, but I’m trying not to compare to hard because animation has an unfair advantage in this instance.Having mentioned the anime, I should also mention that this is one of ... morethe most direct translations from manga to anime that I’ve ever seen, some entire panels were played out as is from page to animation. As I read, I’m constantly feeling like I’ve already seen all this.Even so, it’s a fun read and totally worth the time to experience Kuroko as the original artist intended.I’m hooked! review 2: I, - to put this bluntly as I can without crying tears of joy, - love this series. I even had to make a new goodreads shelf just for it. Seriously, you should read this. It's about a basketball player named a kuroko and how he helps his High School team win a competition while kicking the asses of his over confidant and ego filled former Middle School team members who have each went to different High Schools. Now, if only they would release it in English... I'll be waiting for you Kuroko!!!!! less
