review 1: This was a great debut novel with a gripping premise. Sean Malone is an orphan living with his aunt and he's far from a normal teenager. He appeared on Jeopardy and due to his genius level intelligence, he won every round and in the process, won quite a bit of money. Now, he's trying to live an average life but he solves a problem that has eluded others for years. This solution puts him in the spotlight with the government. Sean gets caught up in governmental intrigue, changes his identity, falls in love... I'd recommend it to anyone that likes an action-packed novel! I feel it would make a fantastic movie. I received an ARC from the author.
review 2: Yes, the book deserves 3 stars, nothing less, nothing more. It took half the story for some action to hap
... morepen. I felt like the first 1/2 of the book could have easily been a prologue & a few chapters. When the story got started though, I really liked the story. The 2nd 1/2 of the book was pretty fast paced and exciting. My favorite character is Natasha just because of her personality and the way she carries herself. Sean was still a likable character. He was really smart but sill had a sense of humor. His modesty was also very enjoyable because it's sometimes really hard to find it in intelligent people. His character developed throughout the story. I also liked Dante because he reminds me of Dimitri from Vampire Academy. Maybe I'm a girl and I don't know how guys talk, but 95% of the guys talked in Gangster slang. Don't people talk intelligently at least some of the time? I might have missed it, but I don't really know how Sean looks. All I know is he has short brown hair. It wouldn't be so bad if this was a stand alone. If there is a second book, it can be about his mutation, moon exploration, 10 kids, or the Traveling Salesman Problem. If there is a 2nd book I'll probably read it. less
