review 1: I didn't care for the first story in this collection but I'm so glad I kept reading. Most of the writings beside The Professor reminded me of Doris Lessing's The Golden Notebook: difficult but brilliant. The Professor was one of the most twisted, realistic and uncomfortable things I've read in a while. Castle nails the "S&M relationship of the vanilla set" (I can't remember where I heard that but it fits) and anyone who has loved someone toxic will relate.
