Power of the Moon
review 1: *Reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors that Rock*Wowza!!! I was captivated, yes I was … from get go Tina Carreiro sure knows how to draw a woman in to her world. Power of the moon is book one in her series. It follows the lives of Mikoda Starr (Mia) and the yummy Cole Barnett.Mia is special she radiates power, a lot of which she has yet to understand. She is a witness to her friends attack. And not a normal attack either. a Vampire attack, Enter the police and the cool hard yummy Cole Barnett, who is there to question Mia. There is an instant attraction between them. But Mia is not that type of girl to give in to their attraction that quickly which makes this not your normal romance story,As much as I loved Mia, I also wanted to strangle her. I felt so sorry ... morefor poor yummy Cole. How much more can a guy do to prove his worth and love to her? He is so respectful and gives Mia her space. I can appreciate that she is scared and fearful but come on girl take a chance. I Loved Cole, he was the living breathing Knight in shining armour that all women would wish for, and yes of course sexy as sin and a man in uniform yum. Also Mia's mum, Sharon. was a breath of fresh air and very funny which help release some of the tension.I adored the beginning of the book. It seemed so easy going then BAM a vampire attack. BAM one her friends is killed. BAM yummy Cole comes on to the scene. I also had to chuckle at the array of jobs Mia has. All the angst and sexual tension was just exhilarating throughout the story; it had me on the edge of my seat.My only criticism would be that some of the scenes were rather gruesome. It made me feel a tad squeamish,I loved this book and I knew I wanted to read book two "Covert the moon" as soon as I finish this one. I just had to see what happened to Mia and Cole. I grew to love them both, even if Mia did annoy me a lot.Tina Carreiro's style of writing is addictive and very much reminds me of Kelly Armstrong. This is definitely an Adult book and one you should most definitely read.4 out of 5 Fangs
review 2: I enjoyed this book so much and I LOVED Mia's thoughts on first meeting Cole, "as she leaned back, she lifted her gaze slowly, from his boots to his eyes, not missing an inch. Oh. My. God. save a horse, ride a cowboy." I really do enjoy getting into Mia's head she amuses the crap out of me, "If I knew being interrogated was like this, I would have been a criminal." He smart mouth even amuses me, might not Cole but who cares, "Here Detective. I believe this is your property. The towel, that is - not me." But Cole that man sure has a jealous streak which I enjoyed reading about, "Your dance is over. Why don't you and your hair gel, go back over to your boyfriends and have a drink before I rip your head from your neck?" Needless to say I can't wait for the next book in this series! less
