review 1: Pretty bad book in the Alien Abduction Romance Genre. I do have some positives to mention but those don't really make the story any better and I'd never recommend this book to anyone else despite being a free read on Kindle Unlimited Program.Quick Rundown: Alien race comes to Earth and makes deal with government for chicks as they need babies, asap! Our Chick gets the news and as she's a candidate, she books ass home, sells her assets and goes into hiding. Alien Prince/Ruler Dude is heading up this project and just knows that his true mate is here but she hides herself good so it takes quite a few months. Of course, she gets caught (or we'd have no story) and pretty much just rolls over. Lots of lameness ensues. End of.Characterization: Pretty one dimensional. If t... morehere was more to the plot, I could have looked past this a little more. I did have a huge problem with the fact that this beautiful, successful, fairly outgoing young woman has made it to 23 without ever being kissed. Holding hands and cuddling is about as far she's willing to go in life so this reads more like Christian Romance (which I particularly abhor but respect others likes/dislikes) despite religion and god never actually being mentioned. I wouldn't even categorize this as Young Adult. It's more like early tween? Secondary characters were fine enough. There's a Big Bad but I don't even remember any of that conflict so...yeah.Plot: ??? It starts off good and like other reviewers have mentioned, her hiding was well thought out and realistic but that was about it. I adore alien romance/erotica but just to get a kiss took like forever and while they eventually had sex, it was fade to black after a kiss- not even a boob grab, let alone the word "sex". And again, once the Dude got her, they had no conflict together- she just kinda folded. And without much more from a Big Bad, the majority of the plot was just not there. Ending was lame but I was glad it ended.Writing: This is why this gets 2 stars instead of 1. The writing was not bad. The dialogue felt pretty natural. Little to no grammar errors or editing issues. The author has potential if she could inject something more interesting into her books.Overall: I wouldn't want anyone to waste their time on this one. There was a set up for a future book with 2 of the characters and while I'm a little intrigued by their story, I might buy it if it's free (Kindle Unlimited) but if it turns out to be as lame as this one, I might skim or just trash it to spend my time in a better fashion.-Spuffed
review 2: Ok so I read the synopsis and it looked really interesting- which is why it got 2 stars. However in execution this book drove me a little crazy! I got really excited that Ashley wasn't just going to roll over and register, I thought ok here is a strong main character. However I quickly learned that she wasn't very strong after all. She folded before anything even happened, sarcastic comments don't count as standing up for yourself. Also her family was ridiculous, if I disappeared in the middle of the night because a alien kidnapped me, they wouldn't be sitting by acting like everything was just hunky dory and my mom wouldn't be excited that the alien seemed to be sweet and is trying to date me. This isn't the first book like this that I've read but this is the weakest character I've read in this kind of story and I rarely write reviews, but I couldn't stand how much of a pushover Ashley ended up being and for other people who read the synopsis and think they will be getting a strong female lead you've been warned. less

It was interesting but not really an original story, too much like Brides of Kindred for my taste.
