review 1: This book was written and evolved into the tv show Moonlight before it was published. It's a much darker and edgier Mick then we saw in the tv show. Every time I picked up this book I could not put it down. It took two of my favorites, vampires and mysteries, and combined them into one very riveting and easy to read book. It kept my interest from start to finish. As much as I loved the tv show, I really wish it would have been more like this book, darker and grittier with an even more flawed Mick. As evidenced by all the vampire shows on now, people were ready for that. I highly, highly recommend this book to anyone who loves vampires and a good mystery. Plus since we already have Alex O'Loughlin's image as Mick from the tv show, it is visually pleasing as ... morewell.
review 2: Since I am a fan of the Canceled tv series Moonlight, I love this book, it showed a darker side of Mick that we never got to see on the tv series and when I read about some of the things that he did in the book that never happened in the show I was surprised that mick did such things ,for example, he did drugs in the book which didn't seem like what mick would do on the tv show another thing was getting lap dances from strippers the mick on tv would have turned them away. A couple of of things that interested me was that coraline was human when she married mick and didn't become a vampire until later, when in the tv series she was already a vamp an turned him on there wedding day. In a flashback scene in the tv series mick plays guitar, but in the book he plays the trumpet which I tought was funny cause I would never picture alex o loughlin blowing into one of those. One part in the book that confused me was the part with the little girl, I couldn't tell if that was present or past when reading that part, in the tv series the little girl grows up to be reporter beth turner and I assuming thats who she is in the book, but not sure if the book was written as what mick did before she grew up or not. I'm hoping maybe a sequel to this book will explain that. I give this book an A+ for the vampire and detective fans to read. Trevor Munson is a fantastic author and I look forward to reading more books by him in the future. less
