review 1: I really like this story and would have brought book two if it wasn't so expensive. Yeah it was below $10 but still, stories like these should range below $5. Anyway on wards with this review: I really like the story line, the witch's jargon used and the characterization however the sudden surge of power worries me and the whole Twilight theme of hunter being in love with hunted is getting old. It's a pretty average story, nothing special from the typical teenage books like Twilight.
review 2: I'm usually a sucker for witch story, well any type of supernatural story really, but this was pretty thin. The main character, who has been so secretive and reserved she has kept a secret from everyone around her including her family for 2-6 years, finally escapes to a n... moreew town and then trusts and best-befriends the first person not to scowl at her. Within a single day they are announced best friends, sharing secrets and she has fallen in love. I get that Teenage years are full of radical emotion but that is too extreme to be believable. Since this instant love and best friendship are the basis for the story it just never worked for me. less
