review 1: This was the first book that I have read by V. Murphy and I hope there are more to come!! The story itself is fantastic. Harper has been thru hell in her life and has overcome as much as she can, but she still keeps her emotions bottled up, Ryder the guy who came from money and has money but has alot of baggage as well. The story line is this is great, there are sex scenes especially with Harper who lets no one in emotionally. This is a great book from beginning to end with some sad parts but it makes you relate and feel with the characters. I can not wait until book 2.
review 2: I'm sort of wondering if these five star reviewers read the same book that I did.This book was not well written at all. I can't sugarcoat that. It just wasn't. The writing didn't fl... moreow. The tense changed constantly (sometimes within a sentence!). The dialogue was a strange (people don't REALLY talk like they did in this novel). The plot was NOT bad, in fact, it was creative, but the way it was translated into writing was so...OFF that it interrupted the story line. I could not enjoy the book because I was re-writing sentences in my head.Ms. Murphy would do well to find an editor (or a different editor) for any future writing endeavors. As I said, the STORY was not bad at all. The writing was. A good editor can take a book from decent to fantastic. This book was not ready to be published.I did appreciate a new, self published author getting herself out there and creating a work of fiction that had a plot different from anything I've ever read. I applaud her for that. less
